Position: DC Manager

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on DC Manager to oversee our Distribution Centre and ensure efficient, high-quality service.
What will you be responsible for?
- Build a high-performing Distribution Centre team aligned with FOM’s values of trust, teamwork, inspiration, and balance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular counts, audits, and optimised storage strategies to ensure efficient space utilisation and minimize carrying costs.
- Coordinate with receiving, retail, and ecommerce teams to fulfill customer orders promptly, handling bulk inventory, picking, packing, and providing timely feedback on stock-related queries.
- Ensure effective use of WMS software to manage inventory, orders, and distribution center operations efficiently.
- Identify and implement new technologies and automation solutions (e.g., barcode scanning, RFID tracking) to improve distribution center processes, enhance productivity, and reduce errors.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of distribution center management systems and related hardware to minimize downtime and maximize system reliability.
- Utilise data analytics tools and reporting capabilities within distribution center management systems to analyse key performance metrics (e.g., inventory turnover, order fulfillment rates) and identify areas for
- improvement.
- Provide training and support to distribution centre staff on the use of technology systems and software to ensure proper utilisation and maximize efficiency.
- Cultivate strong relationships with service providers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of goods.
- Regularly assess the performance of service providers based on predefined criteria, such as lead times, order accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics activities with logistics partners to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transportation costs.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate them in collaboration with service providers and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by providing, monitoring, and auditing PPE use, and ensuring all on-site personnel, including service providers and couriers, adhere to safety standards.
- Integrate data from inventory and service provider systems to establish a comprehensive dataset for analysis.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) related to distribution center efficiency, accuracy, and delivery.
- Conduct root cause analysis to address performance issues and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Report regularly on cycle counts, inventory, and system performance, providing bi-weekly updates to the Head of Supply Chain.
Core skills required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role of which 2 years in a Leadership role.
- Previous experience working in a Retail environment.
- Experience in inventory audits, inventory / cycle counts.
- Adherence to all OHSA standards and rules.
- Strong abilities to use DC management systems (WMS) and databases.
- Exceptional interpretation, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement, provide accurate reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
